• Pros:
– Works natively in Ethernet environments (entire
Ethernet management ecosystem is available)
– Has all the benefits of IB verbs
– CE is very similar to the link layer of native IB, so
there are no missing features
• Cons:
– Network bandwidth might be limited to Ethernet
switches: 10GE switches available; 40GE yet to
arrive; 32 Gbps IB available
